Campaign cabinet members are business and community leaders throughout Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands who are actively helping raise urgently needed donations for the Inspire the World campaign.

Campaign Chair

Alex A. Campbell, O.B.C       

Alex Campbell has been the most important community leader for BC Cancer Foundation on Vancouver Island. Founder of Thrifty Foods, Mr. Campbell is now Chairman Emeritus, Thrifty Foods. The name Alex Campbell has become synonymous with the ideal of a community leader and corporate philanthropist.

I am asking Vancouver Islanders to take action and make a difference in the lives of patients and their families who are facing cancer. Campaign Vice-Chairs

David Black

David Black is President and owner of Black Press, the largest private newspaper publisher in Canada. Black Press has over 150 newspapers and 15 regional web press operations. Cancer has impacted David’s family and he is commited to realizing the vision of Inspire the World.

“What would have been helpful is having someone to talk with about the next steps. What should we be planning for? Often those caring for someone going through a cancer journey feel it is necessary to stay positive throughout -  so you avoid talking about how life  might change. Inspire the World will address the information and support needs of families and caregivers. Please contribute generously.”

Lynne Henderson

Lynne Henderson has been a successful realtor for over 25 years, and is also committed to community involvement. She is very excited to be helping raise funds for cancer care and research.

Derrold Norgaard

Derrold Norgaard, a long time volunteer and supporter of BC Cancer Foundation, is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and a retired Partner from KPMG in Victoria. Currently working with a private equity investment firm, he specializes in international and domestic tax planning and financing structuring for wealthy individuals and business owners.
