About Inspire the World

Q:  What is the BC Cancer Foundation’s Inspire the World campaign?
A:  A $10 million+ capital campaign to transform the BC Cancer Agency’s Vancouver Island Centre through a significant building expansion and renovation. By building an additional 7800 square feet and renovating 3000 square feet, the Inspire the World campaign will create a state-of-the-art Patient & Family Support Centre, Predictive Cancer Research Centre and Radiation Wing.

Q:  Why a capital campaign now?
A:  A capital campaign is urgently needed to meet patient needs and enable vital cancer research to continue. Due to the expansion of clinical services and the phenomenal growth and success of research programs, the existing 98,000 square foot facility is operating beyond capacity.

Q:  What will this mean for Vancouver Islanders?
A:  Vancouver Island will be the only location in BC with a truly comprehensive cancer centre. We will be leading BC in how to integrate clinical care, supportive care and basic cancer research, and will be the only centre in BC where these three key elements are integrated and housed under one roof.
